How to make your resale shop look professional

November 3, 20262 min read

A resale shop looks professional when every listing looks like it came from the same place. Use one background, one light and the same angles. Write titles the same way and measure every item. Ship within a day or two. Then carry one store name and logo onto your tags and packaging.

Photos: one setup, every time

  • One plain background, the same for every item.
  • Window light from the side beats an overhead bulb.
  • The same shots in the same order: front, back, label, detail and any flaw.
  • Show flaws plainly. A photographed flaw is a disclosed flaw, not a return.

Listings: the same shape every time

  • Titles in one order: brand, item, key detail, size.
  • Measurements taken flat: pit to pit and length, plus waist and inseam for trousers.
  • Condition in plain words, with any flaw named.

One name, one logo

Use the same store name on every marketplace you can. A simple logo, even your name in one typeface, does the job.

Put it where buyers touch it: the tag, the sticker on the tissue, the thank-you card.

Shipping and messages

Ship fast. Buyers notice a parcel that moves the next day, and they say so in reviews.

Answer questions the same day, in full sentences. A review reflects how the sale felt, not only the item.
